LaRue Released Mugshot Records
A booking photo records appearance at admission. It can remain in an agency file after a person leaves LaRue County Detention Center and drops from the Current Inmates view. The release record and photograph answer different questions. The first documents the custody event. The second belongs to the booking record.
Kentucky’s public-record framework expressly includes a booking photograph and photographic record of an inmate in the definition at KRS 61.870. That inclusion does not override an expungement order, juvenile rule, privacy exception, investigative exception, or other lawful restriction. Nor does it require LaRue County to keep a public gallery online.
A missing image proves little. Roster turnover, a corrected record, access policy, or a court order can all affect public display. Ask the maintaining agency about the identified booking rather than assuming that an old image or a blank search establishes the current facts.
Where LaRue Released Mugshots Appear
Each channel has a different scope. The person’s last custodian and sentence type determine which official source is most likely to hold the photo.

The LaRue live roster is for present custody. It is not a released-person archive. KOOL covers Kentucky state offenders, including some state inmates housed in county jails, but it may never contain a person booked only on a local case.
Note: An old booking photograph cannot establish a new arrest, a current charge, or the person’s present custody status.
LaRue Jail Photos After Release
The official LaRue JailTracker application is labeled Current Inmates and may show a booking photograph. No official retention period was found for the public row or image. When a released person disappears, the public page should not be read as proof that the agency destroyed the underlying booking record.
No LaRue sheriff or detention-center mobile app with a verified release or mugshot feature was found. The official jail uses a browser-based Public Safety Cloud interface. Its social page does not promise systematic release or photo posts. A generic statewide sheriff app should not be presented as a LaRue source.
The absence of a local 24-hour or 72-hour released feed adds another limit. The Released Last 24 Hours route explains the local records and VINE fallback. It does not turn current booking photographs into a list of people who left.
Request a LaRue Booking Photo
The LaRue County Detention Center publishes an open-records route from its official site. Jailer Jody Perry is the elected jailer, and the facility number is 270-358-9876. Call to confirm where the current request should be delivered, then retain proof of submission.
- Identify the person by full name and the relevant booking date or date range.
- Include the booking number when known. A birth date can help distinguish similar names.
- Ask for an electronic copy of the existing booking photograph tied to that booking.
- Cite the Kentucky Open Records Act and request lawful electronic production.
- If part or all is withheld, ask for a written response identifying the legal basis.
- Keep the photo request separate from questions asking staff to interpret the case.
Kentucky agencies provide existing nonexempt records. They are not required to create a new report or answer a newly composed questionnaire. The Kentucky Attorney General request page offers an optional standard form and instructions.
A precise request can say: “Please provide an electronic copy of the existing booking photograph for [name], tied to the booking on or about [date], subject to lawful redaction. If withheld, please identify the statutory basis.” This keeps the request narrow and purpose-neutral.
Kentucky DOC Photos for LaRue Releases
Kentucky Online Offender Lookup uses a camera icon when a photograph is available, and detail records commonly display one. Kentucky DOC says most, but not all, records have a photograph. Institutional images are updated at least annually or after a significant change in appearance.
A KOOL image may remain with a state-offender record after physical release into supervision. That makes it useful for identifying the official record, but the photo itself does not establish the release date. Read status, location, and sentence fields. Then use a dated DOC release report or records response to confirm the event.
If KOOL lacks the image, send a written DOC request to correctionsopenrecords@ky.gov. Include the full offender name plus birth date or DOC/PID number and ask for the maintained offender photograph with the release or discharge record. Old LaRue Mugshots Need Context
Commercial booking archives and older news stories can preserve a photograph after an official page changes. They can also omit the later disposition, confuse two people, or leave a stale custody label beside an old image. These sources are categories to be understood, not official records to be endorsed.
No commercial mugshot publisher, data broker, or removal vendor is linked here. When a secondary image matters to a personal or legal inquiry, return to the LaRue booking record, Kentucky DOC record, or court file. The official record can connect the image to the right booking and explain what happened later.
A local press report may accurately quote an agency at publication time yet remain online long after dismissal, amendment, sentence completion, or expungement. Publication date and stated source should be preserved. Current custody must be checked separately.
Kentucky Pay-for-Removal Mugshot Rule
KRS 61.8746 targets a specific commercial model. It prohibits use of a booking photo or specified inmate photo obtained from a public agency in a covered publication that demands a fee or other consideration for removal. The law permits court relief and escalating discretionary minimum damages for continuing violations.
The statute does not broadly seal every booking image. It does not force LaRue County to operate an online gallery, make every photo available without review, or guarantee that an image vanishes from every place where it once appeared. Its focus is the pay-for-removal practice.
A person confronting a covered commercial demand should use the current statute and qualified legal help rather than paying an unverified removal service. An agency request and a court remedy are distinct processes.
Expunged LaRue Booking Photos
Kentucky Courts publishes the official expungement process and forms. Eligibility depends on the case type, charge, disposition, offense, completion, waiting period, and current law. Filing a request does not by itself promise that a photo will disappear.
When a court grants relief, covered agencies follow the order and controlling statute. Sealed, expunged, juvenile, and confidential records are not ordinary public records. A custodian may withhold or redact material when the law or court order requires it.
For an incorrect official display, identify the exact booking and error to LaRue County Detention Center. The jail says staff will try to verify and correct reported inmate-record errors, though it publishes no separate correction form or fixed response time. A correction request is not the same as expungement.
The court order should be read for its actual scope. A case can involve more than one charge, booking, or agency record. The order and current law determine what each covered agency must do. A request sent to the jail does not automatically update Kentucky DOC, a court portal, or a separate publisher. Contact the office that maintains the specific official image and include enough detail to match it to the order.
Preserve written responses. If an agency denies access or correction, ask it to identify the controlling statute, exemption, or order. That response gives a clear basis for a follow-up with the records custodian, the court, or qualified legal counsel. It is more useful than relying on a commercial removal claim.
