Where LaRue Detention Releases Go
LaRue County Detention Center is a county jail operated under the elected LaRue County Jailer. A local detainee may leave for the community after bond, pretrial release, dismissal, a changed custody order, or completion of a local sentence. Another person at the same facility may be under Kentucky DOC control. State inmates housed in LaRue can be discharged, begin shock probation, enter mandatory reentry supervision, receive parole-related release, or transfer. Kentucky DOC Daily Releases has named LaRue County Detention Center as a releasing facility. If a report also names a detainer, do not assume the person returned to Hodgenville or the wider LaRue community. Another agency may have taken custody.
Transfer is not release to the community. The county directory also notes that the jailer may transport prisoners to another county. A current roster disappearance is therefore only a prompt to check the next source.

Confirm a LaRue Detention Release

- Check the current JailTracker with the person’s correct name. If listed, read it as current custody information, not a future release promise.
- If absent, search Kentucky VINE or call its phone service. The local jail says its VINE feed receives booking-system updates every 15 minutes.
- Call LaRue County Detention Center with the full name and identifying facts. Ask whether the person left, transferred, or remains subject to another hold.
- Review the LaRue court case for a bond order, dismissal, judgment, probation order, or other custody-changing event. An order may precede physical processing.

- Request the existing booking, release, or transfer record when a documented time, authority, or destination is needed.

The detention center is the likely operational custodian for local booking and release fields. Ask for an existing record tied to a full name, date of birth, and booking date or range. Useful fields include booking number, admission time, actual release time, release type or authority, bond information when recorded, charges, and a transfer or destination agency. Kentucky law does not require staff to create a new report or answer a custom questionnaire.

Use the facility’s open-records form or call for its current delivery instructions. Kentucky’s Open Records Act, KRS 61.870 through 61.884, permits requests for existing public records subject to exemptions and agency procedure. Records can be withheld or redacted when law, court rules, security, medical privacy, juvenile status, sealing, or expungement applies.

LaRue Detention Custody Profile
The facility holds local detainees and some state-controlled inmates. That mixed role is why one search cannot cover every release. KOOL location results, Parole Board eligibility material, and Kentucky DOC release reports confirm state placements at the county jail. They do not turn the facility into a state prison.
A dated Kentucky DOC weekly jail report from August 21, 2025 provides a snapshot, not a current head count. It listed 103 beds and 72 people at LaRue, including 26 Class D inmates. It also listed one community-custody-eligible person, four alternative-sentence participants, and 11 controlled-intake inmates. No parole violators or federal inmates appeared in that report.
Those figures cannot prove present population, available beds, or a permanent federal arrangement. No separate state prison, federal prison, ICE detention center, juvenile detention center, regional jail, or municipal holding facility was verified inside LaRue County.
LaRue Detention Bond Release
Bond payment changes by time and place. During LaRue Circuit Court Clerk hours, Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. excluding holidays, payment goes to the clerk. The paperwork is then taken to the detention center for release processing. After hours, on weekends, and on holidays, the jail accepts bonds.
The facility bond page says the jail requires exact cash, cannot make change, and does not accept credit or debit cards for bonds, fines, or costs. Cash bonds of $10,000 or more and property bonds must go through the clerk. Published types include Administrative Release for certain eligible nonviolent charges through Pretrial Services, recognizance release, unsecured or surety bond, and partially secured bond.
A partially secured deposit is normally 10 percent but no less than $5, subject to the court’s order. The page also identifies a $25 clerk filing fee, $5 jail filing fee, and an applicable $30 warrant-service fee in the situations it describes. These are bond-process charges, not release-record copy fees.

The clerk payment or receipt can precede physical release, so call the jail to confirm that processing is complete and no other hold controls.
LaRue Detention Release Timing
No official LaRue County Detention Center page states a standard release hour, fixed processing duration, exit door, family waiting area, or promised weekend delay. The after-hours bond procedure proves only that paperwork and payment can be accepted then. It does not promise immediate physical departure.
A signed court order can still be followed by identity checks, paperwork, property processing, or review of another hold. A detainer is a notice that another agency may seek custody. When timing matters, ask whether release authority has arrived, whether another hold exists, and whether the person has actually cleared the jail.
LaRue Release Property and Corrections
The facility allows an approved friend or family member to sign out property with the detained person’s authorization. All non-clothing property must be taken at once. Its property instructions state that belongings left for 30 days after release will be destroyed without further notice. That is a concrete deadline, so contact the jail promptly.
Record errors follow a different route. The detention center says staff will try to verify and correct a reported inmate-record error once made aware. No separate correction form or guaranteed time is published. Call the main line, identify the exact entry and error, and keep any record that supports the correction.

LaRue Detention Programs and Release
The jail publishes GED preparation, weekly NA and AA, church services, MRT/PORTALS New Directions, parenting, life-skills programming, and state-inmate work details. Work placements include the jail kitchen, road crews, Hodgenville City Public Works, LaRue County Golf Course, other local public properties, and nonprofits.
These are in-custody programs. Participation does not prove that a person remains enrolled after release, that a specific service continues in the community, or that it is a supervision term. Current post-release duties come from the court, Parole Board, DOC, or assigned Probation and Parole officer.
